Fun for All on 家庭周末
A foggy morning couldn’t dampen the spirits of the Landmark College cross country team nor the many family members, 校友, 学生, and LC employees who came to enjoy Finn’s Fun Run on Saturday. Every year during 家庭周末, the College hosts a 2.3 mile run/walk open to Landmark College friends and families and members of the local community. 今年, 31 people made it to the starting line and back to the finish line, running through the gray morning with smiles on their faces.
Landmark College cross country athlete Charlie Frost crossed the line first for the second year in a row, in a time of 15:09, which was matched by the first family member to cross, 卢卡斯Vasquez. Vasquez is both the son of an alumnus as well as the brother of a current LC student. 科尔Wagenbach, son of LC alumns Kurt and Katherine, was the first community member to finish, in a time of 18:50. Kurt Wagenbach led the 校友 with a time of 19:40 and XC coach Jim Baucom set the pace in the faculty/staff category, finishing in 20 minutes 15 seconds.
到了下午, the fog had burned off and gave way to a mix of sun and clouds as the Sharks hosted York County Community College for the annual homecoming soccer game. The Sharks ended up defeating the Coyotes 11–0, with goals scored by Peter Ansay, 安德鲁·布兰查德, 约翰•赖特, 特里斯坦墙, and Carolyn Hendry, and assists coming from Mo Diaw, 伊桑·科恩, 马克·布鲁姆. Bobby Christopher and Nate Gulley added valuable defensive play in the back and Will Cooley and Silas Batiste tended goal.
Saturday’s game ended a 3-0 home winning streak for the Sharks, who have yet to be defeated this season in official gameplay. This weekend they hit the road for a game at Marlboro College on Saturday followed by a game at Bennington a week later. Both contests are scheduled for 2 p.m. The Shark’s next home game is against the Putney Soccer Club on Sunday, October 21 at 3 p.m.
